Our goal is to promote the sport of soaring through cross country education and experience. Let us help you achieve your badges and diamonds today! Also, the Duo is available to qualified pilots for various cross-country camps and events in the area.

This year we have teamed up with Certified Flight Instructor Russell Holtz.

He obtained his Private Pilot Certificate in gliders in 1995, in airplanes in 1996, his Commercial Certificate in Gliders in 1998, and his Certified Flight Instructor rating in gliders in 1999. He completed the FAI Silver Badge requirements in 1997, and the Gold and Diamond requirements in 1998. Russell has competed at Regional and National contests, and has over 2,400 hours in sailplanes.

In 2000, he helped to create the Youth Soaring Academy in Hollister, California, and was the volunteer instructor for the organization from 2000 until 2004.

Russell has written two books for students who are learning to fly gliders, the Flight Training Manual for Gliders, and the Glider Pilot Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge.

These books are available at
